Directories are a great way to improve your SEO and climb higher in search engine rankings. After testing many, I’ve curated this list to feature only the top options.
What to look for in a directory:
Prefer directories that:
• Offer do-follow links
• Have a high Domain Rating (DR) / URL Rating (UR)
• Allow new submissions
All the directories in the list should meet these criteria.
To check the current Domain Rating (Domain Authority) of a directory: https://ahrefs.com/website-authority-checker
Avoid directories that:
• Only offer no-follow links
• Create a page for your startup/product without linking to it
• Use temporary redirect links (302/307)
I also avoid services that submit your website to multiple directories at once. I don’t think Google likes this approach, as it can appear spammy. Google (and other search engines) will likely detect it and view it as such, and I’d rather not risk that.
Focus on quality over quantity: submit your product to fewer, high-quality directories.
